The persistently palatable Coldplay have returned this year with a rather brightly coloured bouncy little record known as Mylo Xyloto. I had high hopes for this album after 2008's very impressive Viva La Vida, a perfectly formed collection of songs which stayed in my rotation for the better part of a year.

I just loved Bon Iver's debut album For Emma, Forever Ago, so I was delighted to see another release was on the way. I certainly wasn't disappointed, as this self-titled release expands on that wonderful sound and explores new territory.

Those crazy peppers are at it again. They've been pretty quiet for about five years since their rather-good-but-bloated sprawling double album Stadium Arcadium, and to be honest, that left me with so much Peppers material I didn't really miss them while they were gone.

Fleet Foxes are one of the most exciting bands around today, riding high on the indie-folk bandwagon with their uniquely gorgeous sun-drenched melodies reminiscent of The Beatles and The Beach Boys at their harmonious best.

I loves me a bit of Foo Fighters. There's nothing quite like putting on Monkey Wrench and dancing like a damn fool. This latest release, Wasting Light, pretty much sticks to the formula that have made Foo Fighters one of the best radio-friendly rockers around.

I must say, I'm a bit perplexed by this release from Radiohead. The first thing that struck me as I read through the track listing was the fact that there are only eight tracks on The King of Limbs. Reeeeally, guys? You couldn't even muster ten tracks?
